Billy DiNapoli is a guitarist, performer, and recording artist hailing from Milford, Connecticut. With over 1,200 live performances and 3 albums distributed worldwide, he has thrived in the rock and roll arena for over 35 years. Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Billy studied guitar from an early age. His renowned instructors include Chris Risola from the band Steelheart, as well as Steve Vai protege and Grammy Award winner, Paul Nelson.
Over the course of his career, Billy has enjoyed success in multiple bands. His first highlight came in 2001 with his band Aftermath, who recorded and released their fiery brand of hard rock on the Escape label, which was distributed worldwide by Sony Records. He followed that success with a 2007 release by the band, which had then transitioned themselves into Fool’s Faith. A self imposed hiatus to focus on family and business sidelined following the release of that last album but he reunited with guitarist and singer Joe Labbadia in 2012, playing in clubs throughout the New York Tri-State area and New England.
In 2017, a new vision was shared by both Labaddia and DiNapoli and their promising, guitar-driven, retro hard rock band Wild America was formed! Signed to the Kivel Records label, the band put out their debut album, Gasoline, in 2018. The course of the next year would prove promising, as they followed the release with an all-out assault on the US, playing choice venues and festivals throughout the land. The album has received critical acclaim and a hearty welcome from fans across the world and the band continues to play live shows in support. A new album is expected from Billy and the band in 2020.
Billy can also be seen in his tribute band, Stairway to Halen, which combines all the best that Led Zeppelin and Van Halen have to offer. With this band, Billy’s blazing guitar skills can be heard throughout the Northeast region, echoing the sounds of his heroes. Whether it be original music or tribute band, Billy DiNapoli’s guitar talents and musicianship cannot be denied.
